Dr. Lesajean McDonald Jennings is a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Specialist in School Psychology, originally from
Houston, Texas. She is licensed in the states of Texas and Louisiana.
In 1995 she earned her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology, which is a consortium type program among The College of William and Mary, Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk State University and
Old Dominion University.
In December 2018 Dr. Jennings earned a Post-Doctoral Master of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology
from the California School of Professional Psychology-Alliant International University, in San Diego, California.
She is a proud member of the Hampton University class of 1990, where she earned the B.A. degree in Psychology.
Dr. Jennings has been in Private Practice since 1997, and at her current location since 2000.
Outpatient psychological services are provided in a casual setting to children, adolescents and adults.
The primary clinician is an African-American female and a Licensed Psychologist.
A variety of issues are addressed, including Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, ADHD, Learning Disabilities and PTSD.
Dr. Jennings engages older children, adolescents and adults in psychotherapies towards a variety of goals. For example, she assists in helping to achieve personal definitions of success and fulfillment. These might be recovering from the experiences of loss, abuse, emotional and/ or physical trauma. Perhaps you wish to develop greater and more holistic senses of self-love and self-respect. A variety of psychological disorders are treated and assessed, including depression, anxiety disorders, substance abuse problems, learning disabilities,
psychoses and neuroses.
Oftentimes a Psychological Evaluation is used towards the creation of a therapeutic treatment plan and/or to answer specific questions.
Psychological evaluations are conducted with individuals from zero years of age into adulthood. Dr. Jennings conducts Developmental, Psychological, Psychoeducational and Full-Battery Evaluations, She also writes Behavior Plans for those with Developmental Disorders. We utilize intellectual, developmental, academic and personality measures in psychological evaluations to address a variety of issues.
The office is located in a remodeled (2000) house just East of downtown Houston.
The office is on Live Oak Street, between Clay and Polk Streets.
Leeland & Polk are the closest East / West through streets.
Scott and Emancipation are the closest North / South through streets.
The office is fully handicapped accessible and there is free parking.

*Beginning in May 2020 Clients will be seen for In-Person service, in the office. Virtual appointments will remain available.
Reserve approximately 90 minutes for your first therapy session, to allow for paperwork, benefit analysis and the session. Follow-up therapy sessions will be 30, 45 or 60 minutes. If you are coming for an evaluation the testing might be completed on the same or different day as your intake interview with Dr. Jennings. Nonetheless, call us and we will design a plan that works for you and your goals.
We will begin seeing Clients in the Office again on Monday, May 4th, 2020!
New and existing Clients will be accepted. New Clients must be initially seen in a face to face format. Continuing Clients have the choice to be seen virtually &/or in-person.
As we transition to a Post-COVID19 world it is our desire to keep everybody healthy and safe while providing good, ethical and effective psychological services.
